Transferring to another U.S. school

If offered admission at another college or university within the U.S., immigration regulations require that you complete a school transfer procedure to be authorized to attend a different institution.

The school transfer procedure is required even if you graduated from Purchase. Discuss your plans with a Designated School Official (DSO) in the Office for Global Education (OGE) to make sure that the required transfer procedures can be accomplished. Typically another college or university will have a form that must be completed by a DSO. Notify OGE when transferring to another F-1 program within 60 days of the program end date on your most recent I-20 issued by Purchase College.
