Summer in France - Antibes, France

This summer program will return in 2025.

This four-week summer program combines intensive and immersive study in the French language* (all levels offered), with an additional elective course, which varies by year, for a total of 8 academic credits.

While in Antibes, students live with a French-speaking family and immerse themselves in the life of this Mediterranean town with 25 km of sandy beaches and 300 sunny days a year, surrounded by ancient fortified walls. Once the home of Pablo Picasso, F. Scott Fitzgerald and James Baldwin, the region is rich in historical, cultural and natural beauty. Group excursions vary by year, but include Nice and other Côte d’Azur towns. Open to all majors. Students apply to the program through their chosen elective.

Here is some information to help you learn what it is like to live and travel in France, given your identity markers.

*The language course fulfills SUNY’s Foreign Language General Education Requirement and Purchase’s Language and Cultures Core Requirement, and counts as an upper level elective for Language and Culture majors and minors at Purchase.
