Tracy K. Smith
A poet whose work moves easily between science fiction and American history, pop music and traditional elegy, Tracy K. Smith is the author of three award-winning books of poetry. Her most recent collection, Life on Mars, won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize. In 2015, Smith published Ordinary Light, a memoir about race, religion, science, and poetry, which has been long-listed for a National Book Award. She has received a Rona Jaffe Writers Award, a Whiting Award, and an Academy Fellowship from the Academy of American Poets. She currently teaches Creative Writing at Princeton University.
