Grave Site: Present Histories
On View: October 7 – December 20, 2026
South Gallery
Grave Site: Present Histories is an evolving project featuring images of documents, maps and diaries, providing a space of meditation upon the people living through the Revolutionary War on the land the museum occupies.
It is a companion exhibition to The Declaration Distributed in the adjacent gallery, giving further context to the difficult questions regarding the Declaration of Independence’s inherent concepts of equality and independence.
Generous support for this exhibition is provided by the Friends of the Neuberger Museum of Art. Additional support for this exhibition is provided by the Roy R. Neuberger Endowment.
Grave Site: Present Histories is organized by Neuberger Curator of New Media and Director of Digital Initiatives Jacqueline Shilkoff.
