The Guerrilla Girls Complaints Department
On View July 2 – December 20, 2026
Since their founding over forty years ago, the Guerrilla Girls have inspired and encouraged provocation and activism in a variety of ways. Their work serves as a form of visibility, and a call to conversation, rather than a quick and immediate end to a means.
With their work Complaints Department, rather than confining themselves to their own claims and observations, the Guerrilla Girls leave room for the construction of a collective protest space, starting with you. Visit our Klein Gallery and share your anonymous grievances right here, on the chalkboard gallery wall. As an ephemeral and transitory work, the chalkboard will be returned to “a clean slate” at the end of each week for the duration of the exhibition.
Guerrilla Girls Complaints Department is organized by the Neuberger Museum of Art and curated by Curatorial Assistant Rebecca Elisabeta Marya (Rem) Ribeiro. Generous support for this exhibition has been provided by the Friends of the Neuberger Museum of Art.
