backstory: Where it began
How often does one finish up right where they began?
Well, for the Neuberger’s Director of Development, Carrie Bianchi, that’s exactly what’s happening. Carrie always had art in her life but it was her internship here at the Neuberger, many years ago under the mentorship of much beloved former director Suzanne Delehanty, that really set her on her path. Suzanne’s advice to Carrie? “You have to live, eat, breathe, art.”
And that Carrie did, working in New York’s museum and gallery world after college, and landing back here at the Neuberger, from which she will retire at the end of June.
As Carrie observed about one of the highpoints of her time here, “I was fortunate to be able to be there to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Museum, that was a highlight for me. I think about how this gem of a museum and Roy’s collection has nurtured and expanded the knowledge of art for people of all ages, the generosity of that, creating this incredible and amazing collection which has become an essential asset to the campus and community.”
We are so fortunate that Carrie’s life’s journey led her back to the Neuberger, and we all wish her the very best.
Carrie, we expect to see you back here often, as an avid museum-goer!
