backstory: HPN

You don’t usually expect to run into art at the airport.

You’re thinking about your gate, your boarding group, whether you remembered to pack your charger. Maybe you’re heading somewhere new. Maybe you’re heading home.

And then—there it is. What? The Hopper? Huh?

Recently, at Westchester County Airport, my colleague Melissa Sheinheit (who keeps me—and all of us—moving forward every day) paused long enough to send along a photo of one of the two large Neuberger posters now on view right in the middle of departures and arrivals.

Whether you’re just beginning a trip or returning home, look for us at HPN.

Safe travels,

Tracy Fitzpatrick
Director, Neuberger Museum of Art
