backstory: O-Let’s-Go, as she might say
Tomorrow marks the opening of performance artist and punster Pat Oleszko’s exhibition Fool Disclosure at SculptureCenter in Long Island City.
I wrote about Pat in an earlier backstory—about how formative her work was for me and how it expanded my understanding of what contemporary art could be. I was recently interviewed for an article about her as well; we are still waiting to learn when it will be published.
I’m so excited for Pat and can’t wait to see the show. And EVEN MORE EXCITING is the news that our longtime friend and former Friends Board of Directors member Karin Meyers, along with her husband, Burt Meyers, have donated one of Pat’s works to the Neuberger. We are so grateful for their continuing support and devotion to the Museum.

Last week, I mentioned our new exhibition, Studio at Neuberger, featuring the modular plywood works of Tobias Putrih. The very first visitor to build something was a child who created a spaceship. He proudly showed our team its laser cannons, thrusters, and antennae. It was a perfect inaugural construction!
