SUNY DLE Brightspace Usability Survey for Faculty

SUNY is seeking feedback from all faculty who use D2L Brightspace. Please share your thoughts by completing the Fall 2025 SUNY DLE Brightspace Faculty Usability Survey

SUNY is collecting data to help guide our conversations with D2L Brightspace regarding the confidence and/or ease with which people can navigate through and use (i.e., navigability and usability, respectively) the Brightspace Learning Environment tools. For example, if a sufficient number of faculty have a similar issue with a particular tool, we will have data to demonstrate this to D2L. Students across SUNY are also participating in a similar survey.

The SUNY and D2L Brightspace contract is a multi-year agreement and gathering data like this gives us the power to enact potential change. We want to hear your voices, both positive and critical. Please be candid! If something works, great! If it doesn’t, let us know!

Your time and feedback on this survey will have an impact on the training, training resources, and potentially the user experience for you and our SUNY students in Brightspace. (To see what students are saying, please see this 2022 Buff State student article regarding Brightspace: Blackboard to be replaced with Brightspace next semester.)

The survey should take you less than 15 minutes to complete, with an opportunity to share your specific comments on any tool, task, navigation, or usability aspect, etc. at the end of the survey.

Additionally, if you would like to participate in focus groups or participate in more in-depth surveys to help guide potential changes to the Brightspace learning environment, you will have the opportunity to provide your contact information.

Thank you for your feedback!
