backstory: Fred Wilson: Reflections

One of the great privileges of working at the Neuberger is witnessing the reach and influence of our community—sometimes across miles, sometimes across oceans, sometimes across time.

Fred Wilson, who graduated from Purchase College in 1976 and serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Neuberger Museum of Art, opened Fred Wilson: Reflections at the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University on August 20. The Museum marks the occasion with an opening reception this evening.

Fred has spent his career turning what we thought we knew inside out—reshaping objects, reframing narratives, and revealing stories always present but not always seen. His newest survey, shimmering with glass and shadowed by memory, is no exception.

The exhibition is on view through January 4. Go see it if you can. Congrats, Fred!
