backstory: Artistic Discovery
This Friday evening, the Neuberger Museum of Art becomes the place in Westchester to celebrate the creative spirit of our local teens! We’re honored to host the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for New York’s 16th district, now represented by Congressman George Latimer (D) in his inaugural term.
Each spring, the Congressional Institute and the U.S. House of Representatives invite high school students from across the country to showcase their talents in the Artistic Discovery Contest. These young artists submit their work to be reviewed by a jury of local professionals. Their paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media pieces, and photography will be on view at the Neuberger this Friday afternoon. We’re excited to welcome the students surrounded by friends, family, and proud supporters. Winning works from each congressional district will go on to be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a full year, representing the incredible talent of students nationwide.
We’re proud to showcase the next generation of artists here at the NEU and to serve as the home for this amazing celebration for our community.
