The backstory on backstory50

The production of backstory50 and the commemorative anniversary exhibitions we held this year was a huge team effort involving all of the members of the Neuberger Museum of Art staff.

Everyone had their story to tell, which provided a richness of content for all of us—including me—to enjoy. Today I want to point to two people who have been fairly invisible in the work behind the scenes but to whom I owe a great debt of gratitude.

First, Avis Larson, our former Assistant Curator, collaborated with us as a designer on all of our 50th anniversary content: from the logos to the exhibitions to the related publications. Avis is a world-class professional with a great eye for design. It was fun to have her come out of retirement to assist with the anniversary. Then, I’d like to thank Stacy Leistner and The TAGs Group, for their faithful and caring work with us on so many things related to the 50th and the work we do in general … particularly Stacy’s patience with me when my backstory draft shows up in his inbox kind of late on a Wednesday afternoon.

Thanks so much to Avis and Stacy for making all that we accomplished this year possible.
