COVID is still a thing!

What should I do at Purchase College if I might have COVID?

For detailed information about the most updated  Purchase College policies and information about COVID on campus check out the Purchase College COVID website.

As we welcome in the New Year, we are mindful of maintaining the health and safety of our campus community. Up to date reports through the CDC COVID-19 tracker show an increase in hospital admissions for COVID-19 in Westchester County, as well as nationwide. This is the prescribed metric for determining a low, medium, or high community level. We are currently in the medium community level. The CDC provides recommendations for individual prevention steps in areas with a medium COVID-19 hospital admission level.

We are recommending that all students, faculty and staff monitor themselves for possible symptoms (even as slight as a runny nose), stay home if experiencing symptoms and take a home rapid Antigen test. If testing positive, stay home and isolate for at least 5 days and wear a mask through day 10.

Free rapid Antigen home tests are available at Residential offices, Health Services and CMFT lobby. These tests have an extended expiration date of 1/31/24. Additionally, individuals can order four free At-Home COVID-19 Tests through COVID.gov.

Students can schedule an appointment at health services for a COVID PCR.

Students who test positive must report their results immediately to Health Services at (914) 251-6380. If it is after business hours, please email hse.covid@purchase.edu.

Faculty and staff who test positive must notify Human Resources via the Covid-19 Reporting Form. Faculty and staff who test positive are responsible for notifying colleagues.
