backstory: The Hat
It’s not easy to get a pin on that hat.
A couple of years ago, during Romuald Hazoumè’s visit to the Neuberger, I asked the artist if he would be willing to put our “neu” pin on his hat and he responded exactly the same way that he responded to me the first time I asked if we could show the Fâ Series at the Museum: No.
But… we finally got a pin on the hat during his most recent visit to the Museum to celebrate the exhibition of Romuald Hazoumè: The Fâ Series.
This is a picture I took while he and I and exhibition curator Christa Clarke were at the Armory show last week having lunch in one of the cafes there. So proud to be, finally, on the hat.
