backstory: Bittersweet
Today was a bittersweet day. Our good friend Lucille Werlinich rotated off as chair of the Purchase College Foundation.
Lucille has been a wonderful supporter of Purchase College for so many years and I know that she has been a great champion of organizations in our community that many of you have been involved with as well.
Recently, Lucille and I were discussing a piece that I was writing and she gave me some of the best advice I’ve ever received, which is “Not everything needs to be said out loud.” That advice is so extensible … extensible to relationships with colleagues, friends, and family.
Thank you, Lucille, for all that you have done for me, for Purchase College, and the community.
