backstory: Adorable

When classes end, the Neuberger has the opportunity to work with a different set of students on campus: our 4-year-olds in the Purchase College Children’s Center!

This year, the kids came over to the Museum and created murals based on Cleve Gray’s Threnody. According to our Associate Curator of Academic Programs, Kristen Lindberg, the students were “without hesitation when it came to making their own paintings, diving in to paint what they each felt they wanted to express. Their enthusiasm and creativity was a joy to be a part of.”

One of my most favorite parts of the project are the titles the students give to their works. My frontrunner this year was the title that Zoie gave to her creation. She calls her painting: “The Greatest Painting of Zoie’s Life.”

Adorable.
