backstory: Welcome back

We reopen to the public next Wednesday, February 2. The reopening was delayed a bit to align with the return of students to campus and the start of the Spring semester, so we are very excited to have visitors back in the museum!
The winter break is always a busy time as we prepare objects for installation in our new shows and lock down programming for the spring. Our first event, which will be virtual on Thursday evening, February 17th, will introduce you to Marc-Christian Roussel, the conservationist who straightened the bent pool cue in David Smith’s The Billiard Player. Marc can tell fascinating stories about the conservation of this and other objects for the Neuberger, and his work for other institutions, private collectors, even landmarks. It will be an interesting spin on our Artist Talks. Here’s the link for more information. I hope you will join us.

See you soon.
