backstory: Suspense

Earlier this week I had the distinct privilege and joy of listening to one of our interns, a graduate student in the art history program here at Purchase College, talk about her primary research into one of the objects that Roy R. Neuberger donated to the Museum years ago.

Turns out that over time, the piece had a title change and a date change. This brilliant student did all the work to discover this and then some. And listening to her talk about her work, the skills she learned and put to use, the enthusiasm with which she solved these mysteries and told us all about it—it’s just one of the great things about work in an academic museum.

I know … I didn’t tell you the student’s name or what work I’m talking about. Well… I want to create some suspense. All will be revealed in the show we’re putting together on just this topic for the fall.

More soon, be well and keep wearing your mask cause we’re not all vaccinated yet!
