Travis Sluss ’07 Named 40 Under 40

He’s the Founder and CEO of two successful MacInspires Makerspaces.

We’re proud to share that Travis Sluss ’07 (studio production) was named to Fairfield County Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list.

The entrepreneur founded MacInspires Makerspaces, with locations in Mamaroneck, NY and Greenwich, CT, where those ages 5 to adult with any level of experience can get inspired, stretch their imaginations, and work together using STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) education.

In business for ten years, the name comes from a belief that technology, including but not limited to Apple products, are empowering. “Our name gives homage to Apple’s past for being the first computers enabling common people to create graphic art, music, video and more.”

His interest in tech began early in life and he worked for Apple for many years before starting MacInspires. He also traveled as a sound engineer for bands including the Spin Doctors.

Putting MacInspires philosophy in action, Sluss began using his makerspaces to create PPE at the onset of the pandemic.

The Fairfield County 40 Under 40 event was held virtually on February 25, 2021.
