backstory: Sharing

This morning we announced the addition of more than 30 new objects to the Neuberger’s permanent collection over the past year.

As I think about these works– the drawings and paintings, prints, sculptures, and mixed media art– I can’t help but think about Roy Neuberger and how proud he would be that the collection continues to grow with diverse pieces from some incredibly talented artists. Most are still living and working. Some have been featured in our galleries in recent shows. All are welcome new additions to our collection.

I also think about the generous donors who made acquiring the objects possible. Longtime friends and supporters are sharing their love of art by enabling us to care for the works and share them more broadly with our community. Three pieces have already been installed and will be available for you to see when our doors reopen to the public later this spring. Others will be on view in a show of recent acquisitions that we’ll stage this summer. I’m excited for you to see them and grateful to the donors who make stewarding these works with you in mind possible.

You can read about all the new works here.
