backstory: Time to Open ... but not just yet

Even though Westchester County just moved into Phase IV, the Neuberger is still closed. Why? Well, even before the pandemic, we had planned to be closed through the summer and into the fall. Why? Improvements! Among other things, we’re getting a new roof and, frankly, getting a new roof takes time. Hopefully not too much time, but time nonetheless.
In the meanwhile, a few housekeeping things: Keep watching for our digital programs bringing you art, education, community, and fun. Also watch for reopening updates inclusive of what you can expect from us when you come back, such as our safety protocols for cleaning, visitor and staff PPE, and social distancing.

Then, finally, I know you are being bombarded with pleas for financial assistance from organizations in various sectors (because I am too). As with all non-profits, at the Neuberger it’s not easy, but your support over the years has made us strong enough to weather this moment in time. So, while I can’t promise there won’t be a fundraising plea later this year, for now, please just keep your membership current or join us for the first time if you’re not already one of our supporters. And then help others in our community more in need of assistance than we are at this time. That way, we’ll all put the pandemic behind us and be able to arrive at our new normal.

Be well, stay safe.
