Olivia Manna

Major: Voice & Opera Studies
Minor: Journalism

Olivia Manna ’21 considers herself a storyteller and strives to move people, whether that’s through performing or writing. “Alongside my desire to change the lives of others through my art, I found out that I can do the same with writing and changing the lives and perspectives of others through the art of journalism and storytelling.”

Manna appreciated the breadth and scope of talent at Purchase and looked for inspiration all around her on campus. It’s one of the reasons she chose to study here. “Where there are interesting people…there are interesting stories to tell and lessons to learn.”

In the summer before her senior year, Manna interned at Nasdaq in their Futures Internship Program, where she worked with the MarketSite Client Experience and Events team to help organize and present virtual opening and closing ceremonies at Nasdaq’s headquarters in New York City. She’s currently a Production Assistant at Fox Business Network and an Associate Faculty of Voice at the State Island Conservatory of Music. She performed recently at Manhattan’s Teatro Grattacielo.

She remained open to the possibilities of singing professionally and working in the news. “I would never want to miss an audience.”
