Special Announcement for University of the Arts Dance Students
We at Purchase College are deeply saddened by the news of Philadelphia’s University of the Arts closing on June 7, 2024.
Special Application Exception
The Conservatory of Dance will allow applications from students currently accepted to or enrolled in the University of the Arts for consideration for the Fall 2024 semester.
Applicants from the University of the Arts must submit their applications no later than June 21, 2024.
Requirements
- Completed Application
- Application Fee: $50 for either application
- Academic Transcripts
- Audition Fee: $65, non-refundable
- Virtual Audition Video (see instructions below)
- Dance Resume
- List years of experience (if any) studying the following Modern dance techniques: Graham, Cunningham, Horton, and Limón
- Full-body Dance Photo (does not need to be a professional photo)
Please note that we are waiving the letter of recommendation and in-person audition for University of the Arts students.
Virtual Audition Instructions
Your pre-screening audition should not exceed 15 minutes and should consist of:
- Ballet Classwork: Barre and Center
- Modern/Contemporary Classwork
- If you have experience in Graham, Cunningham, Limón, or Horton, please demonstrate those skills.
- Performance clips
