What You Will See on a General Campus Tour

November 27, 2023

Welcome to Purchase College! You will be greeted by our team at the Admissions building. If you have signed up for an info session + tour, expect to begin your visit with an admissions counselor presentation that covers the application process, financial aid, and offered programs. After about a thirty-minute information session, our Ambassadors will greet you, introduce themselves, and take you out on a general campus tour!

Now, we head towards the academic mall, passing our Children’s Center, Student Center, and our Humanities building. The Student Center, also known as the Stood, reflects the inclusive and creative community that you can be a part of. With student art, performance stages, and video gaming stations, the Stood fosters free student expression. Next, we head through our Humanities building, showing you classrooms, and even a lecture hall.

Along the academic mall, we give information about our main buildings, including our very own university museum, the Neuberger. We pass by the Visual Arts building, the Performing Arts Center, and our newest academic building on campus, the Center for Media, Film, and Theater. We head towards the other side of the academic mall, passing our Music, Dance, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences buildings. We give information about our Library, our Student Services building, and then Campus Center North. Expect to hear about our dining options, as well as club events and organizations that drive our campus.

As you pass Campus Center South, your tour guide will discuss our Physical Education, Counseling, and Health Services centers. Next, expect to see our freshman residence halls and a sample dorm room. Your tour guide will give you tons of information about residential and student life. Next, we pass one of our awesome residence halls—Fort Awesome! A name well-deserved, as it is home to our Starbucks, Multicultural Center, and Mental Health Harbor Center.

Congratulations! You have made it back to Admissions. We went in a big loop. Of course, our tour guides will answer any questions you have along the way. If you have any additional questions, you will have the opportunity to speak with an admissions counselor when you return. We also offer visual and performing arts-specific tours on Wednesdays that you can sign up for.

Thank you for visiting Purchase College! We wish you the best of luck on your college journey.
