Campus Advocacy Services are available to help any student with sexual assault or interpersonal violence.

Mental Health Crisis (Fall and Spring Semesters)

• If you are in crisis and need to speak to someone immediately during regular business hours, please contact our office (914) 251-6390 or drop-in at the Center.

• After 5 p.m. and on weekends, the Purchase College-On-Call Counselor or Campus Victim Advocate can be contacted for mental health emergencies or a first response for interpersonal violence via the confidential Nurse Advice Line at 1-888-969-3911.

Medical emergencies or life threatening situations

• Contact the New York State University Police (NYSUP) at (914) 251-6911.

Students in distress or crisis during Winter and Summer sessions

• If you are having an emergency on campus call University Police at (914) 251-6911 or go to the White Plains Hospital Emergency Department.
• If you are off-campus please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department or call the national mental health crisis line at 988.

Services are free, voluntary, and confidential. We provide remote registration and intake appointments. After intake, students may discuss with their counselor a preferred session modality.

Clinical services are provided to matriculated students through the Student Health Fee.

• The Harbor Center’s health promotion activities help students build resiliency as a community while increasing individual and collective student well-being. Collaborative, holistic health promotion programming can be constructed with you by contacting Sara Herskowitz at sara.herskowitz@purchase.edu.
• The Harbor Center is located on the first floor of Fort Awesome (rooms 135 & 136) The Harbor Center is a programming hub for Counseling and Behavioral Health Services. CBHS main office is located in the Lower Level of Humanities.
• The Harbor Center in Fort Awesome Rm. 135&136 offers Purchase students a relaxing, substance-free, programming and peer social space. Contact CBHS Main Office 914-251-6390, or COU.Counseling.Center@Purchase.edu, to request to reserve the Harbor Center for your club or organization special events.

We recruit and train Health Promotion Interns each year to provide peer educational programs. Health Promotion Internships create opportunities for trained peer educators to engage with the campus community and offer a range of activities to help all students manage stress, increase well-being and enjoy life. 

CBHS works with the Office of Community Standards to help students sanctioned as a result of violations of the Code of Conduct to complete education and harm reduction interventions. If sanctioned please call the CBHS office at 914-251-6390.
