Take your songwriting to the next level as you learn to write, record, perform, and promote your own music—no matter the style.
Whether you’re into pop, hip-hop, rock, R&B, or something totally original, you’ll explore melody, lyrics, and song structure, while gaining hands-on experience with recording and sharing your work. All experience levels are welcome—whether you’re just starting out or already writing your own songs, this is your chance to grow as an artist and make music that’s truly your own.
Grades 9–12
Elevate your songwriting to the next level through a dynamic, project-based curriculum. Students will engage in daily creative labs focusing on lyric writing, contemporary harmony, and arranging, tailored to their individual musical style. You will also get the opportunity to sharpen your live performance skills and perform your own original songs with other instrumentalists. You will learn to use industry-standard production tools to capture your ideas and bring your songs to life. In addition, students may have the opportunity to collaborate with the Filmmaking Program on original film scoring projects.
