Charlie Comfort
Charlie Comfort is a singer/songwriter, producer, engineer, and guitarist based in New York City. Trained in music production at Berklee College of Music with a background in Jazz Guitar, he has collaborated with musicians including Joey Madison and Madeleine Amelia, and composed soundtracks for filmmakers including Dana Greenleaf and Doppaganga, premiering at film festivals across New York City, Boston, and Los Angeles.
His songwriting combines folk, classic rock, and indie/alternative to explore introspection and healing with a playful bend, drawing from acts like Yusuf/Cat Stevens, The Beatles, and Big Thief. As a songwriter, he works to refine his craft by writing every day through a variety of creative practices. Currently a music teaching intern at a public school in Brooklyn, Charlie leads general music, band, and songwriting classes, guided by the belief that learning music is as much about developing craft as it is about giving yourself permission to play.
