Elaine Forde is Creative Learning & Engagement Manager – MAC Belfast
Elaine Forde is Creative Learning & Engagement Manager at Northern Ireland’s flagship arts organisation, the MAC (Metropolitan Arts Centre). She has over ten years of experience at Senior Leadership Team level at two of Northern Ireland’s most acclaimed arts organisations – The MAC, Belfast and The Playhouse, Derry.
Her career has been rooted in arts and social practice – working alongside community members, partner organisations and artists to drive positive social change. Her work has resulted in ex-combatants from Northern Ireland’s conflict becoming peacebuilders, hostile policing protocols changing to better support young people; and the testimonies of people in the asylum system contributing to the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission’s action to prevent the UK Government’s illegal Migration Act from being implemented in Northern Ireland.
Elaine gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Arts Management at Ulster University, a Masters in Fine Art from London College of the Arts (Chelsea Art College), and a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art from Ulster University.
