Alyssa McCarthy (she/her)

Director, Office of Disability Resources

Alyssa McCarthy has been working in disability services for nearly a decade, most recently at Manhattanville College, where she also completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Music and Education, respectively. With a passion to create equal access to education and to foster a welcoming learning environment for all, Alyssa partnered with students to create the first disability awareness club at Manhattanville College, as well as the first exclusively transgender-centered club. These efforts, which focus on “students feeling seen” are driving components of her educational philosophy. She looks forward to creatively collaborating with the Purchase community to help all people on campus achieve their potential.

Outside of work, Alyssa loves to hang out at home with her wife and their numerous pets (two dogs, Dexter and Penny, and a cat, Oliver). She is an avid collector of pop culture memorabilia, especially anything from the 90s! She also has an extensive collection of Vans, her sneaker of choice.
