Preston Z Shelsta

Preston Shelsta is a New York based Lighting Designer/ Director and Sound Designer from Brookings, SD. While he does both, his passion for lighting stems from his love of the medium and how it impacts the story as a whole. He has spent his whole life in and around theatres - having hung his first light when he was 8- and it has shaped his view of the world in a unique and special way. Some of his more recent lighting design credits include William Shakespear’s As You Like It, Dance Nation and Gruesome Playground Injuries. Preston will be graduating from SUNY Purchase with a BFA in Theater Design/Technology and is excited to follow his career path wherever it may take him. He looks forward to one day being a lighting director for film and television.
