Precious Omigie ’23 Joins Shakespeare in the Park
The recent grad joins award-winning cast members Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Lupita Nyong’o (Black Panther), and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) in Twelfth Night, a comic romp about romance, gender roles, and mistaken identity.
Precious Omigie ’23 (Acting) will take to the stage as an ensemble player and understudy for the character, Antonio, in Shakespeare in the Park’s presentation at the Delacorte Theater in New York, August 7–September 14. The play will also be televised for PBS’s Great Performances series on Nov. 14.
Omigie is a ‘triple-threat’ performer: an actor, recording artist, and songwriter. She recently appeared in the Indiana Repertory Theatre’s powerful production of Nina Simone: Four Women, playing the role of Sweet Thing.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Omigie discovered her love for acting at a young age, “enticed by its mystery and magic,” she says. Through different media- theatre, film, and music- she aspires to impact and empower other artists.
When she isn’t acting, you can find her writing plays, ‘street scouting’, or collaborating with musicians.
