Film at the Microscope Gallery
Susan Kouguell’s short film, “Barbie Dreamhouse” (2018) was featured in a group show this week at the Microscope Gallery in Chelsea.
The gallery screened 16mm films, animations, and video works spanning nearly sixty years! The showcase, titled “Avant- Barb(ie)”, showcases the many Barbie movies that were made before the most recent billion-dollar-grossing rendition of the famous franchise.
Susan Kouguell is a graduate of Purchase College as well as a professor of screenwriting in the Playwriting and Screenwriting program. Susan is an award-winning writer and filmmaker based in the New York City area. Susan’s experimental shorts have won many international prizes and are featured in the Museum of Modern Art’s film and media archives!
The showcase, and Susan’s film, can been seen live in person or on online from Monday October 2nd – Thursday October 5th .
