Elizabeth Hyman ’11 Signs Deal With Harper Perennial

The Girl Bandits of the Warsaw Ghetto: A Female Military History of the Warsaw Ghetto and its Uprising, a narrative history, will be published in 2025.

Elizabeth Hyman ’11 is a Holocaust historian and author who serves as the Digital Content Manager for the The American Jewish Historical Society at the Center for Jewish History in New York City.

Hyman (History and Journalism, minor in Jewish Studies) has a deal with Harper Perennial to publish a work of narrative history, The Girl Bandits of the Warsaw Ghetto: a Female Military History of the Warsaw Ghetto and its Uprising, in 2025.

The Girl Bandits of the Warsaw Ghetto, pitched in the vein of Hitler’s Furies and Hidden Figures, follows the smart, brave, determined Jewish women and girls of Warsaw as they risk everything to resist Nazi terror and fight back, responding to the Nazi destruction of their people not with paralyzing fear, but with action, working as couriers, spies, assassins, commanders, gun runners and fighters smuggling grenades, hiding dynamite, and shooting Nazis with deadly aim, while writing so that they would be remembered.
