How Pomerantz came to write it…

“As always, it began with a strong image that led to questions leading to other strong images that led to scenes and characters leading me to those intersections that shape and build a narrative. My job, as I wrote it, was to keep the ball of invention in the air without dropping it, to keep surprising myself, and have fun doing it.”
