A Note from President Peña

President Peña thanks the professional staff for their hard work throughout the semester.

Dear Colleagues,

As we head into the summer months, it’s a great time to take a breath and take stock of how far we have come since the start of the pandemic. This past semester, our campus was a vibrant place full of in-person events, performances, programs, and courses. Students, faculty, and staff filled our library, dining areas, classrooms, and theatres. It was inspiring to see, but I know that it took a lot of hard work from our dedicated professional staff members, together with others in our community, to get to this point.

I want to once again thank the professional staff for your efforts, which helped make this all possible. I want you to know that it is very much appreciated by me and by the rest of my Cabinet.

I know that it has been a challenging time, and that it has been sometimes difficult to balance obligations at work and at home. Many of you have had to be flexible and creative, to learn new skills, and to stretch yourselves both on campus and off campus. In keeping with our college’s commitment to lifelong learning, I recognize the importance of our staff continuing to learn and grow in your positions.

Therefore, I’m pleased to affirm my commitment to supporting the staff of the college. In honor of all you have done and continue to do on a daily basis to help our campus thrive, it’s my pleasure to be able to work with the PSC executive board to help fund more opportunities for professional development.

I look forward to continuing to watch our staff succeed personally and professionally.

Have a restful summer.

Dr. Milagros (Milly) Peña

President
