A Note from President Peña

Dear Colleagues,

As we conclude another semester, our fourth to be impacted by the Covid pandemic, I wanted to take a moment to thank you once again for your efforts.

Whether or not you work directly with students every day, your expertise, professionalism, dedication, and enthusiasm greatly contribute to our students’ experience on campus and their ability to succeed here.

The professional staff is here day after day, month after month, even when faculty and students are away on break and the campus is quiet as a mouse. That’s when our staff are sometimes at their busiest, working hard to ensure that everything is in order for the upcoming semester.

Our professional staff makes sure the accounts are balanced, the technology is working, the programs are planned, the reports are written, the residence halls are ready, the faculty are supported, and so much more.

In a way, our professional staff is like our very own team of elves in the workshop, absolutely vital to our mission, but not always seen by others.

In the spirit of the season, I want to acknowledge that my colleagues in the cabinet and I see you, appreciate all your hard work, and celebrate your magical contributions today and every day.
