Meet Adam Christgau
Adam Christgau, Class of ’05
During my years in the jazz department at Purchase (2001-2005) I was fortunate enough to take classes with a wide range of the faculty members. This would not only prepare me to play behind a diverse array of band leaders, but it would also push me to play many styles of music outside of the program. These classes at Purchase led me, not only to playing gigs outside of the school with people like Ray Vega and John Scofield, but they also led me into the pop world where I’ve been steadily touring and recording since my graduation.
I’ve been grateful to have a music career largely in part to the training I got while I was at Purchase College. Over the past 15 years I’ve been touring and recording with acts like Sia, Tegan and Sara, Chaka Kahn, Miley Cyrus, and Troye Sivan. As well as film, TV and video soundtracks such as This Is Us, Easy, Far Cry 5, Chasing Coral, Dirty Money and Atypical.
