Kyle Abraham ’00 Comes Home

Renowned dancer/choreographer discusses his return to Purchase for performance of  Dearest Home.

In a feature story appearing in the current issue of Westchester Magazine, Kyle Abraham ’00 (dance) talks about his time at Purchase and the feeling of returning to campus with his company Abraham-in-Motion to perform the work Dearest Home.

“It is being performed in the Black Box space, which was always my favorite. I went to probably every theatrical production that was happening while I was [studying at Purchase], and most of those took place in that theater.”

Abraham has earned many prestigious awards including a Bessie Award, a Princess Grace Award, and a Jerome Foundation Grant.In 2013, he was awarded the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship, also known as the genius grant.
