Christine Hennessey ’04
Christine Hennessey ’04 (Creative Writing) has been blogging for over ten years, but recently refocused her effort as Better Than Never, where she writes about “living well on less” in coastal North Carolina.
Her musings include life as homesteader with chickens and beehives—even though she rents her home—as well as cooking, traveling, and “singing the praises of the public library.”
She prefers the early morning to work on a collection of short stories and a second novel. By day she’s a digital marketing manager at Sage Island in Wilmington, NC.
Her awards include Semi-finalist for a James Jones First Novel Fellowship, 2016; a Fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center, 2016; and an Emerging Writer Fellowship from Aspen Summer Words, 2015.
Read her most recent short story We Wives, published by Joyland Magazine in July, 2017.
