Complaint Resolution for Out-of-State Distance Education Students
Purchase College, SUNY is approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. SARA is a voluntary agreement among its member states and U.S. territories that establishes one set of national standards and regulations for offering postsecondary distance education (online) courses and programs.
Students residing in states other than New York may, after exhausting campus procedures, file complaints according to the policies of the state in which they reside. For more information, visit the NC-SARA webpage for student complaints.
In addition, if a student is unable to resolve a complaint through the proper institutional process, they may contact the New York State Education Department to file a complaint.
