My Experience in the Freshman Dorms

Being a freshman can be hard; there are a ton of new experiences and new classes. As someone who lives out of state, it can be really intimidating living in a new place, but the freshman dorms are the best way to get to know many new people who are going through the same things that you are. The freshman dorms offer a safe and welcoming place to meet many new friends and people who share your same interests and likes.
All three of the dorms are connected via the underground tunnels, so it is very easy to meet other freshmen from other buildings. All of the freshman dorms also have shared common areas. These spaces come with TVs that you can all gather around. In my time as a freshman, the dorm common rooms were the main place we would hang out. Sitting in there invites many other students to come in and get to know you.
Being able to live in the freshman dorms allowed me to meet so many people who were in the same places that I was. The freshman dorm is also right in front of the quad. In the warmer months, it is a great place to sit and meet people, since it’s primarily used for freshmen. There were also tons of wonderfully talented amateur bands doing mini concerts that allow you to go and meet other people.
In short, coming into college can be overwhelming, but that transition is made easier when you live in a place that is filled with people who are going through the same things.
