Black Graduation 2022
This end of the year, pre-commencement celebration will embrace and acknowledge the achievements of Black students that are a part of the African Diaspora or identify as Black here at Purchase College.

Kente Cloth Sashes
Graduating seniors who wish to get a Kente cloth sash, courtesy of the PSGA, must email pblackgraduation@gmail.com to sign up by Monday, May 9 by 9:00am in order to have a sash reserved for them. Sashes are available on a first come, first served basis.
Student Speaker
We are accepting applications for a student speaker who will present a 3 to 5 minute speech at the ceremony. Interested seniors should submit an outline or the full text of your speech to pblackgraduation@gmail.com by Sunday, May 1.

About
Black Graduations take place at universities nationwide. Columbia, SUNY New Paltz, Cornell, and Harvard are just a few of the colleges that create the opportunity for students to participate in these celebrations. The support that they receive from their respective colleges and departments are fundamental to the success of this commencement. As a result, the Black students at these colleges are appreciated and recognized; they see that they are properly represented in multiple fields across academia.
