Alumni Association Committees

Get engaged with other alumni, current students, and members of the College community!

Volunteer to join one of these groups

Alumni volunteers work with members of the PCAA Board of Directors; faculty and staff; the Office of Alumni Engagement and College leadership; and even student groups to plan activities that bring alumni and the College community together for programs of mutual interest: 

  • Coordination and Interface with Campus Partners Committee

The Coordination and Interface with Campus Partners Committee is comprised of Board members who are charged with fostering relationships within the Purchase College community and orchestrating alumni participation in campus events. Priority shall be given to projects that promote positive interaction between alumni and current students.

  • Programming Committee

The Programming Committee is comprised of Board members who are charged with developing, coordinating, and managing PCAA-sponsored events through the year. The committee will focus on activation and engagement by:

  • Creating networking and professional development opportunities for alumni and students.
  • Fostering mentoring opportunities between current students and alumni.
  • Supporting the retention and success of current Purchase College students.
  • Supporting enrollment activities, as appropriate.

The Programming Committee will take a critical and strategic look at the ideas that are presented by its ad hoc groups. Consideration shall be given to budget, audience, reach, opportunities for collaboration and engagement, program content, development timeline, promotion, and metrics for success. Committee members will work with College staff to manage and ensure the successful execution of all approved events.

Any member of the PCAA shall be invited to serve on any of the Programming Committee’s ad hoc groups.

  • Alumni Awards and Alumni Weekend Ad Hoc Ad Hoc Planning Committee

This committee will coordinate the call for nominations and selection of a slate of alumni candidates for recognition by the PCAA during a presentation ceremony held in conjunction with Alumni Weekend.

Committee members will also assist in planning the annual Alumni Weekend program and serving as Class Ambassadors to encourage participation at the events.

  • Alumni Showcase Ad Hoc Ad Hoc Planning Committee

This committee will coordinate the inaugural Alumni Artisan Fair during Alumni Weekend 2025. By showcasing the work of Purchase College alumni artists, makers, and authors with entertainment by Conservatory-trained musicians, the committee will foster engagement between alumni and current students while also highlighting the diverse skills and talents of the creative Purchase community.

This committee will focus on connecting, empowering, and representing Hispanic and Latin American alumni and students at Purchase College, and their allies, by building community through mentoring and artistic, cultural, and social themed programming and events. A signature event will be organized during National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15); additional programming may be organized in conjunction with other groups.

This committee will focus on connecting, empowering, and representing Purchase College alumni and students of the African diaspora, and their allies, by building community through mentoring and artistic, cultural, and social themed programming and events. A signature event will be organized during Black History Month (February); additional programming may be organized in conjunction with other groups.

This committee will focus on inspiring the next generation of industry professionals to enact culture change, parity, inclusivity, and equal representation of women for a sustainable career by building community through mentoring and artistic, cultural, and social themed programming and events for Purchase College alumni and students. A signature event will be organized during Women’s History Month (March); additional programming may be organized in conjunction with other groups.

This committee will focus on connecting, empowering, and representing Purchase College LGBTQ+ alumni and students, and their allies, by building community through mentoring and artistic, cultural, and social themed programming and events. The committee will coordinate the participation of Purchase College’s representation – as a part of the larger SUNY contingent – in the Heritage of Pride in New York City (June); additional programming may be organized in conjunction with other groups.

  • Virtual Events / Online Programming Ad Hoc Planning Committee

This committee will focus on connecting, empowering, and representing Purchase College alumni from across the country and around the world via virtual events and online programming. A signature series of virtual events will be organized during January; additional programming may be organized in conjunction with other groups throughout the year.


Two additional committees are available for participation by members of the PCAA Board of Directors.

Bylaws & Governance Committee

(PCAA Board Members Only)

The Bylaws and Governance Committee shall review the current Bylaws and determine whether such Bylaws are in need of revision. It is that responsibility of the Bylaws Committee to revise the Bylaws and submit such revised Bylaws to the Board for consideration, review and comment prior to disseminating the revised Bylaws to the Association for approval by a vote at the Annual Meeting.

Nominating Committee

(PCAA Board Members Only)

The Nominating Committee shall be chaired by the Vice President and comprised of other directors and/or voting members of the2corporation. The Nominating Committee shall be responsible for the research, recruitment and nomination of candidates for all available seats on the board of directors and shall present a slate of nominees for such seats to the voting members at least thirty days prior to the expiration of the terms of the then-current directors.
