Purchase LatinX Alumni Network (PLXN)
The Purchase LatinX Alumni Network (PLXN) seeks to connect and represent Hispanic and Latin American alumni of Purchase College.
PLXN aims to build community by reflecting and celebrating the diversity of LatinX alumni through artistic, cultural, and social themed programming and events. In collaboration with Purchase College Alumni Association (PCAA) committees and affinity groups, PLXN is committed to strengthening resources and opportunities of engagement between current LatinX students and alumni.
PLXN is an affinity group of the Purchase College Alumni Association. It is led by a committee consisting of PCAA Board members and volunteers. All are welcome.

Purchase LatinX Alumni Network (PLXN) and the student group Latine Unidos (LU) came together on campus and online for an important conversation about the challenges faced by first-generation Latinx students and the power of mentorships.
PLXN Co-Chair Denny Santos ’04 (Sociology) and LU President Yandania Veras ’26 welcomed participants and Purchase College President Milly Peña to Mentoring for Success: A Focus on First-Generation LatinX Students. PLXN Co-Chair Dr. Antonio Santiago ’00 (Liberal Studies) presented highlights of his recently defended dissertation exploring strategies to expand a peer mentoring program to support first generation Hispanic student retention and persistence toward completion at a two-year institution. PLXN members Iris Bodre ’98 (Literature), who is also a PCAA Board member, and Jonathan Campozano ’14 (Legal Studies) joined the conversation about struggles and challenges 1G students tackle and responded to questions about career, academics, internships, work, entrepreneurship, life experiences, and more.
