Talent-Based

Purchase College offers talent-based scholarships to students demonstrating exceptional artistic ability in music, dance, visual art, film, creative writing, and theatre.

These awards are reserved for students who submit portfolios, auditions, or other creative work as part of the admission process and are based on the strength of the submission as evaluated and recommended by faculty.

Talent-based scholarships are distinct from merit scholarships, which are often awarded based on academic performance (e.g., GPA). Students entering a talent-based program are only eligible for talent-based awards and are not eligible for other Admissions scholarships.

There is no separate application required. To be considered, simply complete the audition or portfolio review process for your program by the designated deadline. Scholarship decisions, if awarded, will be communicated by April 1.

Please note: funding for talent-based scholarships is limited and awarded to a small number of top applicants. Awards typically range from $500 to $5,000, with consideration given to approximately the top 5% of submissions.
