Precollege Programs: Songwriting & Intro to Music Production

  • Precollege
  • Summer
  • Session-I

Take your songwriting to the next level as you learn to write, record, perform, and promote your own music—no matter the style.

Whether you’re into pop, hip-hop, rock, R&B, or something totally original, you’ll explore melody, lyrics, and song structure, while gaining hands-on experience with recording and sharing your work. All experience levels are welcome—whether you’re just starting out or already writing your own songs, this is your chance to grow as an artist and make music that’s truly your own.

Grades 9–12

Elevate your songwriting to the next level with daily small-group instruction in lyric writing, music theory, and arranging. Master industry-standard software like Pro Tools and GarageBand, and discover powerful strategies to market yourself and your music through online and grassroots channels. Sharpen your live performance skills with guidance from seasoned professionals, and walk away with a polished recording of your final performance.
