About the Program
The Jewish studies program offers a full array of courses in Jewish history, plus courses in Jewish and Israeli literature, biblical history and historiography, Holocaust studies, Jewish philosophy, and Hebrew language.
Course materials extend from antiquity to the contemporary. The approach is interdisciplinary and involves the faculties of history, literature, language and culture, and philosophy in the School of Humanities. Students in any discipline may minor in Jewish studies, and history majors may choose Jewish history as their area of interest.
This program was originally made possible, in part, by a Challenge Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
