Jade Cook

Jade Cook has been pursuing her love of theater from a very young age while training in choir, opera, dance, and musical theater at Harlem School of the Arts and Wingspan Arts Summer Conservatory. Though her acting career started later, with a temporary adieu to musical theater, her passion for it grew strong and quick. At Purchase, she has played roles such as Juliet in Romeo & Juliet (dir. Lisa Wolpe, 2026), Yazmin Ortiz in Water by the Spoonful (dir. Kadina De Elejalde, 2025), Cheryl in Stick Fly (dir. A Dean Irby, 2025), and  Lucia in Mad Forest (dir. Christopher McCann, 2025).

Jade has also had the amazing opportunity to work as an apprentice and perform in Catskills Mountain Shakespeare’s production of Romeo & Juliet (dir. Rebecca Wahls, 2025), where she played Sampson. This apprenticeship also allowed her to work on the technical side of theater, such as helping build the set and some set pieces, doing costume repairs and laundry, and being involved with the take-down process.

Jade enjoys writing her own songs, poetry, and playing instruments in her free time. She extends her greatest gratitude to her parents for always believing in her,  her siblings for being a surrounding support system, and her Nana for leading with love.
