Lidia Callau

Lidia Callau

Lidia Callau is an artist originally from Spain

Lidia began her artistic journey the moment she stepped on stage. She later moved to Costa Rica, where she trained at a Conservatory of the Arts, specializing in theatre. At Purchase, she has embraced a wide variety of roles that have shaped her growth as an actress, including  Polina in The Seagull (dir. Alex Correia, 2024), Rodica/Girl Student in Mad Forest (dir. Christopher McCann, 2025), the Judge in The Government Inspector (dir. Virginia Scott, 2024), and Mary Bennet in Pride and Prejudice (dir. James Maxwell, 2024).

Beyond Purchase, she portrayed Juliet in Romeo and Juliet with Lucien Theatre Company, which she co-founded in 2024, and appeared in a film directed by renowned Spanish filmmaker Paula Ortiz. Alongside acting, Lidia moves through the world of dance theatre, allowing the body to speak when words fall short. She also creates music as another form of storytelling, including composing the score for Romeo and Juliet.

Lidia extends her heartfelt gratitude to her family, friends, teachers, Company 50, and everyone who has been part of her ever-growing and exciting artistic journey.
