Edward O’Blenis
Lecturer, Acting
Edward O’Blenis teaches Acting II in the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Purchase College, where he guides second-year BFA Acting students through the plays of Anton Chekhov and contemporary performance using the Stanislavski System and related practices.
More About Me
An actor and director with more than twenty years of professional experience, he has performed with companies including Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Arena Stage, and has directed university productions, most recently as a guest director at LIU Post. He previously taught at the Victorian College of the Arts in Australia and at the New York Film Academy in Manhattan, and has been a guest teacher at Fordham University.
A former Fox Fellow, Edward served as a senior teaching artist with ENACT LLC for fifteen years, using theatre as a tool to teach social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and life skills to New York City youth, including students in Alternative Learning Centers across the Bronx and Brooklyn. He is a member of the Audio Publishers Association, Actors’ Equity Association, and SAG-AFTRA, and continues ongoing training with The Actors Center in Manhattan. Edward holds an MFA from the Yale School of Drama and a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts.
